Where are you?
Hi! You found my personal website!
I'm Daniel Visser, and this is where I post whatever about my academics, career, and personal life.
Academics
I completed both my undergraduate and graduate studies at Clemson University, where I explored topics from
low-level C programming to cloud computing and human-centered design. During my junior year of undergraduate studies, ChatGPT released
and started reshaping how people view my academic program. I personally have been shaped by a curiosity
for how people interact with technology and use it in ways that are useful, interesting, and thought provoking.
I've worked on a variety of projects that challenged me to learn new tools and think creatively.
Selected Projects
-
Depth Estimation with Deep Learning
Fine-tuned a ResNet model to predict image depth using public datasets. Evaluated results with MAE, RMSE, and accuracy metrics.
-
Möbius Strip 3D Modeling
Used PyTorch3D to build and render a 3D Möbius strip, experimenting with different ways to visualize and represent 3D objects.
-
Truck Driver Incentive Program (Team Project)
Helped develop a web platform on AWS for rewarding truck drivers based on performance, including database design and RESTful APIs.
-
Pizzeria Database System
Built a MySQL database with a Java front-end to manage customer orders, using Amazon RDS for cloud storage.
-
Cat Doom in Pygame (Team Project)
Created a Python FPS game with a Doom-style engine, implementing NPCs with pathfinding and modular code using design patterns.
